Two-handed Conjurer's Arm
- This article is about the Conjurer and White Mage weapon. For the Blue Mage weapon, see Blue Mage's Arm.
Two-handed Conjurer's Arms are weapons used by conjurers and white mages. They consist of canes.
Until level 50, one-handed weapons are available for conjurers and white mages, along with two-handed weapons. Past that, two-handed weapons are the only weapon type available.

Lore
At a glance, there appear very few outward differences between those arms wielded by practitioners of the black arts and those of the white. Indeed, the origins of the latter lie in the rudimentary aetherial mediums developed by the shamans of the Second Astral Era. However, early mages were quick to realize that certain types of magicks—predominately those concerned with healing and the cleansing of impurities—did not resonate well with the heavily aspected elemental baubles affixed as focal nodes to brands and cudgels. Unlike black magic, which draws upon the invisible rivers of energy that flow all around us, white magic is engendered via a connection betwixt the caster’s internal aether and her surrounding environment, and thusly items still attuned with nature are oft better suited at harnessing its power. Budding boughs, swollen taproots, fruiting fungi—all these have been recognized to stimulate aetherial conductivity, resulting in enhanced healing potency. So much so, in fact, that very rarely are the items altered or modified from their original forms.
Prominent Designs
Wand
To the untrained eye, most wands can seem naught more than the fallen limbs of storm-stricken sentinels; yet, despite being far removed from the trunks which once bore them, the boughs practically bristle with power, the life energy within maintained by the generous application of alchemic growth formulae.
Cane
The roots and boughs of living dryads are oft employed in the crafting of conjurers’ canes, though it is believed that only those given freely by the ancient seedkin possess any true power. Conjurers will actively seek specimens that are twisted and bent—the curvature of the crook lending to the medium’s ability to accelerate the flow of ambient aether.
Radical
Another word for the root of a plant extending directly from the base of its stem, a “radical” also represents both a living being’s ties to, and dependence on, the land’s energies. These crookless canes will, on occasion, be carved with symbols of power or fitted with tribal fetishes to promote elemental acclimatization.
Crook
While not as pronounced as the bow of a cane, most crooks are slightly bent at the head. Hunting horns or stones carved with arcane runes can be added to improve aetherial conductivity, but many purists choose to leave the haft bare, claiming that adornment only interferes with the natural flow of aether.
Whispering Rod
Through a long and arduous process of repeated enchantment has this radical been imbued with a sentience closely resembling that of a familiar, though its capacity for basic motor functions is limited to a slight bobbling of the head.
Shakujo
Oft translated into Eorzean as “cane” or “crozier,” the shakujo is an aetherial medium carried by the ascetic monks of the Far East, known for their extended meditative wanderings amongst the realm’s highest peaks. The means by which the object interacts with ambient aether is much similar to that seen in wands and crooks of Western origin.
Kple Kple
Dissatisfied with Gridania’s ruling class, a conjurer of somewhat ill repute fastened a Meracydian mask carved from the body of a worshipper of Sephirot to the living root of a heavenspillar, believing that the resulting crook would grant him the ability to commune with the elementals—a talent reserved for the city-state’s Hearers.
Omnirod
A relic from the same fallen civilization that produced the omnitome, the omnirod fascinated the Allagans, the secret to its construction an enigma that left imperial scholars mazed until the very fall of the Empire. Even today, the wand remains unable to be reproduced, the only ones in existence the ones discovered by the Sons of Saint Coinach at their dig in Mor Dhona.
Yagrush
There was a time when master weaponsmith Gerolt Blackthorn showed little discretion when accepting a new commission, the call of coin (or more precisely, the call of the wine which it could purchase)—proving stronger than the push of his moral compass. Yagrush was the result of one such job, the rod created for a nameless Thavnairian come to Eorzea in search of vengeance.
Alkalurops
One of many ordnance weapons proposed to outfit the newly reestablished Grand Companies of the late Sixth Astral Era, its name can mean either “club” or “shepherd’s staff.” The petals of the ivory trillium atop Alkalurops will open when the staff is taken up by a conjurer, a rapid accumulation of ambient aether spurring the bud to blossom.
Masakaki
Once used by Far Eastern priests as stands for displaying sacred relics during religious ceremonies, it is only recently that Masakaki have found their way into the hands of spellcasters. The shakujo’s head is adorned with twin wands made of cuttings from a broad-leafed evergreen known in Doma and Hingashi as “sakaki.”
Aymur
This ancient cane, long guarded by the Conjurers' Guild, features crystals embedded in its haft that were not applied during its creation, but are rather naturally occurring stones that became enveloped by the wood as the bough grew thicker with each new spring. The rare Bird of Paradise feathers affixed atop the crook, however, are a recent addition.
Nirvana
According to Near Eastern legend, this humble walking stick is said to have been imbued with life eternal when its owner—a monk whose flesh had grown mortified after suffering many moons of penance—discovered spiritual enlightenment upon achieving a state of oneness with the land and its myriad energies. Over the centuries, countless others have set forth on similar journeys of the soul, seeking to replicate the miracle.
Deae Gratia
Historical records of Ala Mhigo’s violent past reveal that Deae Gratia was added to the royal vault following a bloody encounter with an army of horsemen attempting an invasion of Gyr Abania from the Near East. The head of another weapon—Teiwaz—was altered by court goldsmiths to have it better match the ornamentation found on this radical.
Mistilteinn
Despite an estimated age of over a thousand summers, the sprig, of mistletoe espoused to this rod of unknown origin remains unwithered. Several theories have been put forward in an attempt to explain this remarkable phenomenon: some scholars claiming the leaves are expertly preserved by embalming techniques long forgotten, while others argue the plant’s roots were placed into a formula of dragon’s blood before application.
Byakurenge
Carved from the heartwood of holy sentinels by Far Eastern monks as part of their ascetic training, the tawny lily is believed to represent the promise of enlightenment in an age of spiritual darkness, while the uncurving haft represents the shortest path to achieve it. It is debatable how much of this Rowena understood when recently importing several cases of the shakujo for sale at her House of Splendors. [1]
