Resonant
The term "Resonant" is used to describe a person who has been artificially implanted with the ability to manipulate aether, causing them to exhibit abilities that are similar to The Echo. The extent of what the ability can do, and the procedure to implant it into a subject, are not fully understood.

Capabilities
In combat, Resonant individuals begin to exhibit heightened predictive capabilities similar to those who possess The Echo, but beyond this observed similarity we cannot yet say for certain if all Resonant come into possession of the same abilities, or if the results are unique to the individual.
Unique Eyes
One or both eyes of Resonant individuals will display a unique visual pattern when their abilities are put to use.
Immunity to Tempering
Like Echo-users, Resonant seem to be immune to the influence of the Tempering effect employed by most Primals.
Predictive Capabilities
As mentioned above, Resonant individuals exhibit improved predictive capabilities that allow them to excel in combat.
Visions of the Past
Some Resonant have been observed to have sporadic visions of the past, like Echo users.
Direct Control of Primals
Some Resonant have been observed to be capable of aetherically "merging" with a Primal, and exerting their will over the Primal's body as if it were their own. While inhabiting a Primal in this fashion, absorbing large amounts of aether from crystals or other sources will power up the Resonants' Primal body just as this does for independent primals.

Origins and Lore
The procedure for creating a Resonant was invented by Aulus mal Asina, at the behest of his then-commanding-officer Zenos yae Galvus. As Garleans cannot naturally manipulate aether (and therefore, cannot use magic), the original intent was to find a means of allowing this. Through experiments on the captured Krile Baldesion, a bearer of The Echo, he was able to make the necessary breakthroughs that allowed the ability to be implanted into Zenos yae Galvus, and later on into Fordola rem Lupis.
