Ninki Nanka
“Instead of laying their eggs in a pond or river where they might be devoured by predators, female ninki nankas deposit their off- spring upon the back of the fathers, who then carry and protect the brood until the young nankas are ready to face the world on their own. While not poisonous, nanka flesh is tough and exhibits a strong ammoniacal flavor, rendering it unsuitable for consumption in all but the most desperate of cases. The Gnath, however, do not seem to mind the unique tang, and have made the wavekin a staple in their diet.
